Role 1: General Operative / Caretaker
About The Role
Flannery Construction are looking to recruit a motivated and skilled General Operative to work on a range of different projects. This is an opportunity for the correct candidate to obtain a wide range of experience and to be exposed to multiple different skills within the construction industry.
Key Responsibilities
Work with the foreman and other team members to complete different tasks
Depending on experience and ability, more responsibilities can be undertaken by the successful candidate
Ordering materials to site as well as coordinating the deliveries
- Ensure that works are carried out in compliance with planning, health and safety and environmental regulations
Salary
Commensurate with experience
About The Candidate
If you are eager to get a well rounded experience in the construction industry, this is the role for you. The more you can work under your own initiative to bring projects to completion, the more responsibility and benefits you can gain. If you have a flair for a particular area we can work with that, and then enhance your other skills too.
Key Skills
Experience with carpentry and other trades such as electrical, plumbing, landscaping etc.
Relevant qualifications and/or rounded experience
Collaborative approach always – able to consult colleagues if help is needed. Good communication skills.
A reliable, self-motivated individual working under own initiative and without constant supervision
A “can do” attitude to problem solving with enthusiasm
Driver’s license required
Management experience with Health and Safety policies and procedures
Bonus Skills
Mechanically minded with an ability to operate machinery when required (eg. excavators / teleporter)
Proficient in ground works and concrete works
- Ability to understand drawings
Experience with building regulations and collating BCAR documentation
- Ability to manage team members, and ensure others are delivering on the dependencies that are important to your own work

Role 2: Carpenter / Foreman
About The Role
Flannery Construction are looking to recruit a motivated and enthusiastic Carpenter/Foreman to manage a mix of Commercial and Domestic projects. This is an opportunity for the correct candidate to obtain a wide range of experience with projects of different complexities and size.
Key Responsibilities
Take full responsibility as the Foreman for the project throughout the construction phase through to handover
You will manage the site team, both direct and indirect, ensuring the project is running to programme and budget
You will be responsible for the flow of information to site team, direct staff and sub-contractors on your site
Ordering materials to site as well as coordinating the deliveries
Coordinate and report back to senior team
Ensure that works are carried out in compliance with planning, health and safety and environmental regulations
Salary
Commensurate with experience

Key Skills
Skilled Carpenter with experience as a foreman in a range of construction projects
Relevant qualifications and/or rounded experience
Collaborative approach to managing and communicating with sub-contractors and on-site work force
Ability to keep detailed notes of all site activities, and achieve non-adversarial dispute resolution
Proficient I.T. skills
Ability to understand drawings and carry out work to a high standard
A reliable, self-motivated individual working under own initiative and without constant supervision
A “can do” attitude to problem solving with enthusiasm
